Mum of two, Photographer, Lecturer and Course Leader
Based in Stroud - the creative hub of the South Cotswolds - Emilie is continually pursuing and working on personal and collaborative projects. Her practice encompasses environmental portraiture as well as exploring her subjects through a social documentary approach. Her current personal projects include 'The Yoga Mum Project’ and '11 Mothers. 11 Journals’.
Emilie receives varied commercial commissions alongside working part-time as a Photography lecturer, and recently appointed Course Leader, for the FdA Photography course at the City of Bristol College.
Emilie’s career began after graduating from Central Saint Martin’s in 2003; working as a Black and White printer, assisting well known photographers, and working part-time at a music photography gallery in Soho. It was her collaboration with Clash Magazine and other inspiring sources that then enabled her to pursue a freelance career.
Conceptual interests led to her award winning final major project at the London College of Communication - where she received her Masters degree in 2014.

Graduated from Bristol Polytechnic (now UWE) with BA Hons (2:1) Humanities in 1985.
1987 began trading as a self employed freelance photographer specialising in editorial portraiture.
Worked as freelance professional photographer based in Bristol for 20 years, including running a city centre studio for 6 years, until 2006.
Taught a variety of photography courses at a broad range of levels (part time, in a various regional colleges) since 1990.
Taught on Foundation Degree in Professional Photography (FdA) at City of Bristol College since Sept 2006.
Course Leader of FdA above from Sept 2010 to July 2016.
Becoming part time in 2016 has enabled me to concentrate on personal projects.
Currently working on a project on family + memory, based on the 15th Arrondissement in Paris.
